DIVEST FROM DEATH
Deconstructing UCR's history and it's ties to the military-industrial-complex
UCR Dissenters is dedicated to ending the exploitation of life for profit, one step at a time. Our larger campaign this quarter is titled Divest From Death. We aim to demand that UCR cut it's ties to war profiteering, starting with their investments in militaristic mega-corps. This is where you come in. The Hylander Student Investment Fund (HSIF) is an opportunity for business students to raise and invest money in whatever stocks they chose, as well as influencing UCR's general investments. On a student level, the HSIF is the best place to start taking action.

In Spring of 2020, a report showed that the HSIF had invested in companies such as Sysco and Caterpillar. These companies both have known ties to the prison-industrial-complex and the military-industrial-complex.

UCR Dissenters is holding a teach-in during our Week of Action (Nov. 7-11).
Join us on November 10th @ 12pm in African Student Programs (Costo 133).
This workshop is titled "UCR and the U.S. military-industrial complex", and explores UCR's deep history and current involvement in war profiteering.
